LATIN DANCE CLASSES
The Sonata Room offers classes in popular Latin Dances such as Salsa, Cha Cha, Bachata and Rumba. Known for sexy hip action and dramatic flair these dances are very popular in Southern California Clubs and a great way to have fun, meet new friends and get some exercise while dancing to hot beats. At the Sonata Room we focus on teaching our students the perfect blend of patterns, techniques and musicality to ensure that they hit the floor like a pro.

SALSA
This is the most popular dance in Latin Club Dancing in Southern California. The dance is incredibly energetic - full of spins, turns and other sharp dramatic poses, and a perfect way to burn a few calories! If you are looking for a basic, easy to learn dance that will keep you moving with confidence on in the Latin Club scene start with Salsa!
Difficulty Level: Easy
BACHATA
Bachata is an extremely sensual and sexy dance. It is much slower than Salsa and Cha Cha. The romantic music is usually based on tales of dramatic heartbreak and forsaken love. Like Cha Cha, Bachata is played between predominantly Salsa sets, but if you become a Latin Club afficionado, this dance is a must add to your repertoire.

CHA CHA
Cha Cha is a versatile dance -The music is part of the ballroom repertoire and is played in latin clubs between Salsa sets. You can enjoy this wonderfully simple dance with a great variety of music from Latin to Latin Pop to Top 40 songs. CHA CHA is dynamic and sassy and it's a favorite of our favorite martial artist, Bruce Lee!
Difficulty Level: Easy
RUMBA
This passionate Ballroom dance is often described as the “dance of love”. It’s slow rhythm allows for full expression with lots of arm styling and body movement.
Difficulty Level: Moderate
ARGENTINE TANGO CLASSES
Sonata has a special commitment to teaching authentic Argentine Tango. As in our other classes, we teach an award winning blend of pattern, technique and musicality.
Argentine Tango is a beautiful, lyrical dance. More than other Latin and Social dances, it relies heavily on improvisation. This makes it exciting to lead and to follow. The dance can quickly become an addiction, as evidenced by its worldwide popularity, but mastery of technique requires time and patience.
